Sampler

The Sonicbond Publishing Prog Rock Sampler

Published in association with Prog Magazine

This exclusive E-book book features eleven chapters from books on some of the greats of the genre, including from our On Track series Yes, Genesis, Caravan, ELP, Gentle Giant, Jethro Tull, Pink Floyd, Porcupine Tree and Steve Hackett solo. Our Decades series offers up chapters on Marillion in the 1980s and Van Der Graaf Generator in the 1970s and our Year In series has a chapter on Aphrodite’s Child’s seminal 666. This is just the tip of the iceberg, though, and for the up-to-date list, check out the complete stocklist at the back of this book.

The book also contains two exclusive pieces that you won’t find in our printed books anywhere else. Nick Holmes’ detailed chapter on Porcupine Tree’s Closure/Continuation can be found in the current E-book but not yet in the printed version and Stephen Lambe has rewritten his own chapter on Yes’ ‘lost album’ Talk, released 30 years ago.

As well as downloading the free E-book, why not sign up to the Sonicbond Publishing newsletter or follow us on social media via the links below.

Sonicbond Publishing was founded in 2018 by Stephen Lambe.

Stephen had spent most of his work career in the publishing industry, working for independent non-fiction publishers. During his time in the industry, Stephen learned the benefit of series-based publishing, allowing easier design and production without compromising on quality. He combined this experience with a love of music which has allowed him to use his expert knowledge in freelance music journalism. He also co-promotes the Summers End and Winters End Progressive Rock Festivals and sometimes provide marketing and tour support for rock bands. These have included Welsh band Magenta, German band RPWL and Canadian band Mystery. Stephen has also found time to write 10 books on rock music and local history.

Sonicbond Publishing pride ourselves on the quality of its information, especially via our flagship On Track series. In particular, we are always happy to provide a starting point for new and inexperienced authors. All you need is some musical expertise and a vision!

Dominic Sanderson

Sonicbond’s editor. He has a BA in Music and English Literature (First Class Honours), as well as an MA in English Literature (Merit), from The University of Liverpool. He is also an emerging progressive rock musician.
